Ten Days Since the End of the World…
…and it’s already time to launch another count of a finite number of days that will totally, like, END, on December 31, 2013. So mark your calendars, NOW, people, cuz your’n & my’n 365-&-a-quarter day count has BANG! left the starting gate!
Which leaves us this little moment to share some holiday cheer.
Joy O! these holidays,
And aren’t we so glad that the Mayan Calendar hoopla turned out to be just so much hype?! Heck yeah! (What does counting in “base 20″ mean, anyway?!? Those wacky Mayans!”)
Well, the kids have continued to grow (Silly’s 9 feet, and Jolly’s 7 feet…woops, scratch that…*years*…9 and 7 *years*!) And they also continue to be magic beings of love, laughter and other things that start with the letter “L” (that are loveable).
We love you all, and together wish the very best for you on this next circuit around the sun called “Post-Apockalipstick”, or “Who’s Mayan This Round?” or “the 2k12 Non-Bug” or “2013”….or the gift of life and each other outright….Call this coming year what you will, but call it close to people who matter to you and to whom you matter.
Because the heart of the winter holidays – whether you’re in your hot-cocoa-cups, shredding or just shuckin’ the jive — the heart of it is being each other’s reminder of what matters. You matter. To us. (Not coincidentally, this is also the little-known secret to actually having a genuinely great time on New Years Eve. Yes, strange, but true.)
And yes, for those paying attention, this post marks the first guest appearance, here on the ole bloggy blog of none other than my babies’ mama! The kiddiewinx tell me they like it for her to also be in these here “Holiday Cards”, and so, yep, there she is. And there we are.
With a song in our hearts and a Mayan-approved new epoch upon us, best and warmest wishes for this solstice season of wintery hannukah christmas kwa-whatiskwanzaanyway holiday extravaganza…and a Happy New Year!
